He had no authority to force lockdowns, masks, vaccines, social distancing, etc. He made recommendations based on a long career in infectious diseases. Americans must always strive to establish and maintain a level playing field when it comes to the rule of law and administration of justice. Government employees cannot get special treatment. They must be responsible for their choices and actions just like any other person.
