Hello SMF’ers! Today is another 2A Tuesday here at the Foundation so let’s jump right in to some valuable information we wanted to share.
When Governor Jay Inslee, was asked about what motivates him as he makes policy decisions in his final year in power, he “tied his priorities back to one of his chief motivations: What kind of Washington do we want to leave for our grandchildren and all the future residents of this state?” The irony of that statement is not missed on those of us who see the destruction of our beautiful state due to lawlessness and government overreach while the freedom and safety of law abiding citizens is under attack on a daily basis. Let’s look at the data regarding what kind of state we have for our grandchildren right now and keep in mind that there is an attack on our right to protect ourselves and our property.
Gov. Jay Inslee Talks Policing Housing and His Final Year
After 40 years of below average crime rates, violent crime in Washington has reached record highs, increasing by nearly 20% in just five years.
While the U.S. is set to see a decline in homicide, Washington’s murder rate has increased 96% since 2019, culminating in a new state record in 2022.
According to the Washington State Association of Sheriff’s and Police Chiefs, violent crime in Washington state has increased by 55% since 2015.
Aggravated assault has increased by 30% over the past five years and is now at its highest level in 24 years.
While property crime has declined nationally, it has increased in Washington and our state ranks 2nd worst in the nation for property crime.
Washington has the 2nd highest rate of larceny theft incidents per capita and ranks as the #1 state most impacted by retail theft.
Car thefts surged after the vehicular pursuit laws were changed in 2021 and Washington now ranks as the 3rd worst state in the nation for motor vehicle thefts.
Yes, Jay, what kind of Washington do we want to have for future generations? As crime soars due to lawlessness, faulty legislation and a reduction in law enforcement, why are policies being pushed that remove Constitutionally-protected freedoms that allow citizens to protect themselves and their loved ones? Does that even make sense? While Jay may indicate a good and noble motivation behind his policy decisions, the outcomes do not support his means and thus must be firmly re-evaluated. If in fact his statement is true, does our Governor indeed envision a future Washington where his grandchildren deal with rampant poverty, rampant drug use, government overreach, overtaxation, lawlessness, and an attack on our God-given rights? Lets hope not.
Silent Majority Foundation was born out of a necessity to halt government overreach and the attack on our Constitution. Since our inception in 2021, we have taken on over 38 cases regarding a range of Constitutional issues including four Second Amendment issues currently making their way through the court system. As we await the decision from Judge Bashor in our Washington v. Gators Custom Guns lawsuit, we ask that you consider becoming a monthly donation partner. Each monthly donor allows us to operate and expand our Legal Team as we look to take on more cases this year! Join the battle. Join the SMF family. God bless you, and God bless America!
