Hello SMF family! We wanted to update you all on our PeaceHealth lawsuit as well as focus on a key legislative bill in Washington state regarding medical freedom.
🇺🇸 Update on SB6095 - DOH Emergency Powers
Our friends at Informed Choice WA just put out a fantastic update on this bill that is going through the legislature right now. Below is a quick update based on their research and publication.
The House Health Care and Wellness Committee held a public hearing on Friday, February 16, on engrossed (slightly revised) Senate Bill 6095 that would allow the “Secretary or the secretary's designee, who must be a department employee, [may] issue a prescription or standing order for any biological product, device, or drug for purposes of controlling and preventing the spread of, mitigating, or treating any infectious or noninfectious disease or threat to the public health. Any such prescription or standing order is issued for a legitimate medical purpose.”
Guess what? It gets worse. The Secretary also “has sole discretion and owes no duty to any person to issue a prescription or standing order pursuant to this section. This section does not create a private cause of action. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, neither the state nor the secretary nor the secretary's designee shall be liable for any civil or criminal damages or any professional disciplinary action related to the issuance of prescriptions or standing orders pursuant to this section, other than for acts or omissions constituting gross negligence or willful or wanton misconduct.”
Thank you to Senator Linda Wilson for getting this next piece amended into the bill:
“Nothing in this section shall be construed to allow the secretary or the secretary's designee to issue a standing order to require a person to take a drug or biological product or withhold a drug or biological product from a person."
Senator Anne Rivers also added some protections as noted below:
Page 2, Line 8 now includes provisions for “exceptions to liability protections in the bill in cases of gross negligence or willful or wanton misconduct.”
Despite receiving a resounding “CON” during the public hearing this bill was passed right on through out of committee during the Tuesday February 20 executive session. This bill has passed out of Senate and through the House committee, as confirmed by legislators. We will continue to watch this bill as it makes its way through the process.
🇺🇸 COVID - Litigation Conference - Las Vegas
Part of our legal team will be traveling to Las Vegas for the COVID Litigation Conference on March 7th and 8th! This conference is jam-packed with information for those in the legal profession as well as the general public.
🇺🇸 CHD Vax/No Vax Bus
Seattle - April 17, 2024
Spokane - April 19, 2024
The 42-foot bus will travel across the continental U.S. over the next year. The #CHDBUS tour aims to gather stories from people injured or who have died as a result of vaccinations, including but not limited to COVID-19 shots or hospital protocols.
At tour locations, those who were harmed (injured or survivors of loved ones who died) by vaccines will have a platform to share their stories and sign their name on the bus. This is your opportunity to be a participant in The People’s Study and connect with like-minded people in your local community.
The tour features a brand new bus modeled after the beloved RV in the documentary, “Vaxxed II: The People’s Truth,” coinciding with the release of the book “Vax-Unvax: Let the Science Speak” in which Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Brian Hooker, Ph.D., investigate over 100 peer-reviewed studies analyzing the differences in health outcomes in vaccinated versus unvaccinated populations.
🇺🇸 Update on Zimmerman v. PeaceHealth
We're in a waiting period, although we anticipate moving forward with additional discovery requests. Discovery is the process whereby we have the opportunity to ask PeaceHealth why it did what it did in its approach to the adoption and enforcement of the COVID shot mandate. We will keep you all updated as soon as we have movement.
