Director's Message July 4th 2025
Freedom is not just our Birthright, but our daily duty to Defend!
To Our Donors, Members, and Supporters,
As we gather to celebrate the 249th anniversary of our nation’s founding, we at Silent Majority Foundation pause to honor the enduring principles that birthed our Republic: liberty, faith, and the unyielding resolve to defend our God-given rights. On this Independence Day, we reflect on the sacrifices of our Founders and the timeless wisdom they imparted, which continues to guide us in our ongoing struggle to preserve freedom.
Our Founders understood that true liberty begins with the freedom to worship according to one’s conscience. Thomas Jefferson, in his 1777 Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, declared, “Almighty God hath created the mind free… all attempts to influence it by temporal punishments… tend only to beget habits of hypocrisy and meanness.” This profound commitment to religious liberty remains a cornerstone of our nation, reminding us to safeguard the sacred right to worship without fear of persecution.
Equally vital is the freedom of speech, the lifeblood of a free society. John Adams, in 1765, boldly stated, “Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people… Let us dare to read, think, speak, and write.” His words challenge us to uphold open discourse, to speak truth boldly, and to resist any effort to silence the voices of the people. At Silent Majority Foundation, we are committed to defending this right, ensuring that every American can speak freely and fearlessly.
The right to bear arms, enshrined in our Constitution, empowers us to protect these liberties. James Madison, in Federalist No. 46, wrote, “The advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation… forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition.” This right is not merely about personal defense but about preserving the balance of power between the people and their government, a safeguard against tyranny that we must vigilantly protect.
Yet, with these rights comes a solemn responsibility to defend the Constitution and the principles it embodies. Benjamin Franklin, in 1787, warned, “A republic, if you can keep it.” His words remind us that freedom is not guaranteed—it must be actively preserved. Jefferson echoed this in 1787, noting, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” These stark words underscore the perpetual struggle for liberty, a fight that demands our vigilance, courage, and commitment to the Constitution’s enduring framework. As we celebrate this Independence Day, let us recommit to the ideals of 1776. Let us honor the sacrifices of those who fought for our freedom by actively defending our rights to religious liberty, free speech, and the means to protect them. Let us stand as stewards of the Constitution, ensuring that our Republic remains a beacon of liberty for generations to come.
At Silent Majority Foundation, we pledge to continue our work to uphold these principles, empowering the silent majority to rise, speak, and act in defense of our constitutional heritage. May God bless America, and may we, as a nation, forever strive to keep the flame of liberty burning bright. With gratitude and resolve,
The Directors
